Labor Notes is also fun for non-beer drinkers!

11. Kimonos, Korean, and other mental vacations from WI. One year there was a group of Japanese garbage workers who came. They showed up at the evening banquet in full traditional dress (men and women) while the rest of us wore jeans. They gave away some kimonos as gifts at the talent show.

12. Labor drinking stories. The European dockworkers told about fighting free trade at the big free trade meetings (story involved long bus rides, heavy drinking and fireworks).

13. Tattoos! At Labor Notes, there's body art on display by Teamsters and other labor people.

14. Clothes freedom (stories of). I learned that nudity played a key role in seeking fairness for campus workers at UC Berkeley (the college students did the stripping-for-justice).

15. Taco trucks. Southern CA grocery warehouse workers shared their strategies for protesting the hiring of contract workers. They had some friends who happened to drop by with trucks with loudspeakers mounted on top. The workers had time to make a few jokes at the boss' expense before their lunch break was over.

16. Art. The art workshops at Labor Notes have been hands-on and resulting collages and cartoons are on display all weekend.
